The description of Fortnite

The most famous battle royale game that received millions of fans all over the world is now available on your smartphone. Could you believe that?

Fortnite gains more and more popularity since it was launched for in July 2017. And we are sure: the game is worth the candle.

Gameplay

The game offers almost the same user interface as the console versions. A great job was done by Epic Games, who made the game perform well on iOS. By the way, they also managed to keep it small enough with a 1.7 GB download.

A classic Fortnite is represented in 3 different playing modes: Fortnite: Save the World, Fortnite Battle Royale and Fortnite Creative.

Now speaking about the mobile version, there is only the Battle Royale mode available to play. You can choose to play solo, duo or in a squad. With the last two options requiring you teaming up with your friends or randomly selected people. To start the game, you have to create Epic account to log in and save your progress.

The game starts with some kind of trivia. You are placed in an open area for some time where you can test out your controls and see how everything works. Then, after a few seconds, you are put on the bus and taken over the island, where you can jump off and start to play.

Once you started, you can use a pickaxe to break trees, walls, and basically everything to collect basic resources such as wood, brick, and metal. This stuff can be used to build walls, floors, and stairs. Such fortification pieces can be customized as well. Players can add things like windows or doors. You can also update the materials to stronger variants using more materials of the same type. In Battle Royale, this provides the means to quickly traverse the map, protect oneself from enemy fire, or to delay an advancing foe.

Must be also noted that unlike the PS4 or Xbox versions, the mobile version adds an alert icon, which pops up when someone else is nearby, showing the direction they’re running or firing from.

Visuals

The game runs on a small screen impressively smooth. The mobile version of Fortnite looks identical to the PC or console version at first glance. The only detailed comparison makes you realize that everything has been turned down a bit. This includes things like textures, level of detail, anti-aliasing, shadows, lighting, texture, etc. However, the game looks beautiful at all times, even with lowered resolution. It isn't really noticeable on mobile displays either.

Once you’re playing, the bright, colorful graphical style works well in this reduced format, allowing you to easily pick out scenic details, even from a distance.

Controls

The controls in this game are decent. They are all easy to remember and seem usable. With your left thumb, you drag on the screen to move, and double-tap to autorun. With your right thumb, you drag on the screen to aim and tap to fire your weapon. In the bottom-middle of the screen, you’ll find a reload button, a build mode button, and your inventory.

Great
Actually, Fortnite mobile is pretty much what you'd suppose it to be. The game looks wonderful and granted I played it on an iPhone 7 and for now, there is nothing to complain about. The game is also equipped with a cross-platform. No matter where you play, you level up on all the devices you logged your account in. Fortnite is fun and it’s absolutely worth trying since it’s free.
